Luxury at Manas Resort doesn't announce itself — it settles around you. It's the quality of light in your room in the morning, the uninterrupted valley view from your private sit-out, the way the staff anticipates a need before you've expressed it. Since 1991, Manas has refined this understated approach to hospitality: rooms and villas that prioritise natural light, natural materials, and a design vocabulary borrowed from the surrounding hills rather than imposed upon them.
The property spans 7 carefully landscaped acres at the top of Kasara Ghat, Igatpuri — a location that guarantees two things: cooler air than the valley below, and views that remain genuinely dramatic regardless of season. In monsoon the hills disappear into cloud; in winter the early morning fog sits in the valley below your balcony; in summer the sunsets go long and gold. No two visits feel the same.
Nine room categories give guests a meaningful range of choices. The compact Koi Vista rooms (350 sq ft) are refined and modern — perfect for couples wanting a clean, well-executed space without the size of a villa. At the upper end, the Macaw Villa and Conure Villa span 1,000 sq ft across living, sleeping, and outdoor areas. The Macaw Villa includes an in-room hot-water mini pool — a particularly valued feature for couples or guests coming off a long drive from Mumbai.
Every room across all categories shares the same core standard: Italian marble or premium tile bathrooms, rain showers, king or queen beds with quality linen, tea and coffee-making facilities, in-room safe, LED television with satellite channels, high-speed Wi-Fi, and 24-hour room service. The difference between categories is space, outlook, and the particular character of each building. Marmo Cottage Rooms have the warmth of a hillside cottage; Koi Vista rooms have the crispness of a boutique hotel; the Villas have the ease of a private home.
The infinity pool is the social centrepiece of the resort. Designed to appear to spill into the Sahyadri valley, it offers an optical illusion that remains impressive even after you've seen it many times. The water is maintained and clean year-round. Adjacent, a kids' pool with a dramatic 20-foot waterfall feature keeps younger guests occupied and happy for hours. Sun loungers, a poolside service area, and shaded seating complete the space.
Pool access is exclusively for residential guests. Early mornings (before 8am) are typically quiet; afternoons on peak weekends see higher activity. Towels and pool chairs are provided. No outside food or beverages are permitted in the pool area; the resort bar serves pool-side on request.
Woodpecker is the main dining venue — a multi-cuisine restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a menu that spans Indian regional, continental, and seasonal specials. Fresh produce from the resort's on-site organic farm features regularly on the menu, contributing to a farm-to-table offering that is genuinely local rather than aspirational. Breakfast is full and satisfying; dinner on the lawn (weather permitting) is one of the more memorable ways to spend an evening at the resort.
The Flamingo Bar, open from late afternoon into the evening, is the resort's social anchor. Cocktails, wines, whiskies, and non-alcoholic mocktails are served alongside bar snacks. The décor is warm and easy; the music is ambient rather than loud; the crowd is resort guests rather than walk-ins. It's exactly what a resort bar should be.
The spa at Manas offers massages, body treatments, and wellness therapies for individual guests and couples. Popular treatments include Swedish and deep-tissue massages, Ayurvedic oil treatments, and couple's packages combining massage with steam and foot therapy. All treatments are by appointment, available daily. The spa is accessible to all residential guests and is frequently booked on weekend mornings.
Luxury at Manas extends to experiences you won't find at other five-star properties. India's first resort petting zoo — operational since 1991 — is home to dogs, horses, rabbits, exotic birds, reptiles, and more. For families, this is often the single most memorable element of the visit. For adults, the supervised bird-feeding and animal interaction sessions are a genuine reset from the relentless stimulation of city life.
The resort has hosted destination weddings, corporate leadership retreats, team-building days, and celebratory events since the early 1990s. Multiple event spaces — grand lawn, banquet hall, secondary lawn, poolside — handle gatherings from 20 to 400+ guests. A dedicated events team manages end-to-end coordination including catering, décor vendor briefings, and day-of logistics.
For corporate groups, Manas offers a conference room with AV equipment, customisable team-building activity schedules, and accommodation packages for groups of 30–120. The combination of a focused work environment and immediate access to outdoor reset activities (pool, petting zoo, nature walks) makes for a more productive and memorable offsite than a city hotel can provide.
